Curriculum

The Sunshine Preschool program wants to reach all children in an age appropriate way, treat them with respect and as individuals. Open ended, active learning activities allow children of all developmental levels to be challenged, work together and learn from one another.

Using a multi-cultural based curriculum with an emphasis on Spanish and sign language we incorporate stories as general themes to facilitate language, literacy skills and home to school carry-over. Play is a basis for learning and developing social, motor, cognitive and language skills. Children are allowed to make choices throughout the classroom day in order to promote their individuality and social skills.

Our structured environment consists of large and small group activities, which encourage language, fine motor and gross motor development. A balance of child-directed and teacher-directed learning activities are included throughout the day.

Our low teacher/child ratio allows us to give each child the individual attention they require. We have two teachers in every classroom who work together as a team to provide a quality program for your child and family.
